Locals visit the Carmelite monastery to pray and offer petitions (prayers for students taking exams, illnesses, thanksgiving and others). Petitioners are advised to bring offerings such as a basket of fruit, a dozen eggs or monetary donation. The Carmelite Church houses an image of the Holy Child or Santo Niño which is known to perform miracles. People are advised to keep their voices down.
